While in Florence my husband and I happened to walk by a beautiful flower marketplace with stall after stall of gorgeous flowers. I was certainly in heaven! I shot a bunch of pictures rather quickly as it was quite a bustling place. When home I fell in love with this dahlia standing out amongst the others. It was so much fun to paint reminding me of our wonderful vacation.
I was very pleased when this painting was selected to be in the Humboldt Arts Council Juried Show at the Morris Graves Museum in December 2010. 22 x 30
